This guide will walk you through setting up Stripe Connect to receive payouts from event entries.
Overview
Stripe Connect allows event organizers to receive payments directly from participants while Horsin Around handles the payment processing. You’ll receive payouts automatically after each event or on a weekly schedule.
Prerequisites
- An active Horsin Around organizer account
- A valid business or personal bank account for receiving payouts
- Business documentation (if registering as a business)
Step 1: Access Settings
- Log in to your Horsin Around organizer account
- Navigate to Settings in the admin panel
- Select the Stripe Connect tab
Step 2: Connect Your Bank Account

In the Stripe Connect section, select the Account Type:
- Individual: For sole proprietors or freelancers
- Provide first and last name, and email
- Company: For registered businesses
- Provide company name, representative first and last name, and email
- Individual: For sole proprietors or freelancers

Click Connect Bank Account to start the onboarding process.

You will be redirected to Stripe’s secure onboarding flow. Follow the prompts to provide the necessary information:
For Individual Accounts
- Provide personal information (name and email)
- Verify your identity with government-issued ID
- Connect your bank account
- Agree to Stripe’s terms of service
For Company Accounts
- Provide business information (legal name, tax ID, address)
- Add representative information
- Verify business documents if required
- Connect your business bank account
- Agree to Stripe’s terms of service

After connecting your bank account, you will be prompted with the option to use “Link” connected to your bank account. DO NOT TURN THIS ON. Skip this step. If you turn it on, it will add an express checkout option for Link automatically during the registration checkout page, and we have no way of turning it off after it is activated.
Step 3: Verification
After completing onboarding, Stripe will review your information. This typically takes:
- Individual accounts: 24-48 hours
- Company accounts: 2-7 business days
You’ll receive email updates from Stripe about your verification status.
Step 4: Start Receiving Payouts
Once your account is verified:
- Payouts are processed automatically
- Funds are transferred to your connected bank account
- You’ll receive email notifications for each payout
Payout Schedule
- Automatic payouts: Funds are transferred as payments are received
- Weekly payouts: Available for accounts that qualify
- Manual payouts: Can be requested through your Stripe dashboard
Fees
Horsin Around fees will automatically be deducted from each payout. Stripe may also charge processing fees based on your location and account type. Refer to Stripe’s pricing page for details.
Troubleshooting
Account Not Connecting
- Ensure you’re using a supported browser
- Check that your bank account information is correct
- Contact support if you continue having issues
Verification Delays
- Individual accounts: Usually approved within 24 hours
- Company accounts: May take up to 7 business days
- Check your email for updates from Stripe
Payout Issues
- Verify your bank account information
- Ensure your account is fully verified
