How does Horsin Around make money?
A small per-entry fee added on top of the entry fee at checkout. For online entries, riders pay the fee directly through Stripe — it never touches your revenue. For cash and check entries that you log onsite, we invoice you separately for the per-entry fee. The exact rate is set by agreement when you onboard, based on the size and shape of your shows.
How does the agreement work?
When you sign up as an organizer, we have a quick conversation about your shows and put together a simple service agreement that captures the per-entry fee. There are no monthly minimums, no termination fees, and you can stop using the platform any time.
When do I get paid?
Once your Stripe Connect account is verified, payouts run automatically — typically within 2 business days of an entry being processed. You can also schedule weekly or manual payouts from your Stripe dashboard.
What about Stripe's processing fees?
Stripe charges its standard processing fee (around 2.9% + 30¢ per US card transaction) on the total charged at checkout. That fee is set by Stripe and applies whether you use us or any other payment processor.
Can I take cash and check entries at the gate?
Yes. Log them in the dashboard for full reporting and class management. We invoice you separately for the per-entry fee on those entries — whether you collect it from the rider or absorb it into your gate pricing is up to you.
What happens if a competitor cancels?
Refund policies are configured per-event by you. When you process a refund through Stripe, the Horsin Around per-entry fee is automatically refunded too — you only pay for entries that actually run.
